Travellers: please book through your travel agent. Accessible Travel Kenya works alongside them on every access detail.

Uganda’s least-visited wilderness: the vast Narus Valley of Kidepo, then Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces through a gorge a few metres wide. Short flights replace the longest drives, so it suits travellers who want remoteness without the road time.

Make it yours for your clients. This itinerary is a starting point. Agents can ask Accessible Travel Kenya to customise it for their clients: change the dates, pace, length, lodges, vehicle and access support, or combine it with another journey or a beach stay. Price on request, with a written, tailored quote within 24 hours.

Who it works for

  • Physical (wheelchair users and slow walkers): Yes (flights replace long drives and most viewing is from the vehicle or boat)
  • Visual (blind and low vision): With support (the big sights are wide views, so guides describe them; the falls you can hear and feel)
  • Hearing (Deaf and hard of hearing): Yes (visual game viewing with written briefs)
  • Hidden (autism, fatigue, chronic illness): Yes (few people, quiet lodges and short transfers)

Your days

Day 1: Entebbe

Meet-and-assist; rest.

Days 2–3: Kidepo Valley

Fly north (about 2 hours). Afternoon drive in the Narus Valley. Day 3: a Karamojong village in the morning, rest, then a night drive.

Days 4–6: Murchison Falls

Fly across to Pakuba. Day 5: a boat to the foot of the falls, then rest. Day 6: a slow morning, then sunset at the top of the falls.

Day 7: Ziwa and home

On the way south, about 3–4 hours by road to Ziwa for a short walk to see white rhino, then about 3 hours to Entebbe.

Best time to go

Weather: June to September and December to February, dry and easier on the tracks. Value: March to May and October to November, greener and quieter; check that flights and lodges run.

Good to know

  • Vehicles: partner 4×4 with pop-up roof; light aircraft boarding by lift or carried transfer, arranged with the airline; soft bags, about 15 kg.
  • Rooms: Entebbe hotel, Kidepo lodge and Pakuba Safari Lodge · access profiles to complete.
  • Equipment and support: wheelchair, shower chair and commode through the partner; remote areas, so health needs are planned in advance; 24-hour WhatsApp support.
  • Communication and senses: guides describe the views; the roar at the top of the falls; written briefs; sign language interpreter on request.
  • Pace: two and three nights per stop and a rest afternoon each day. Day 7 runs to about 6–7 hours by road; Accessible Travel Kenya offers a flight from Pakuba to Entebbe instead, skipping Ziwa.
  • Limits and alternatives: the rhino trek at Ziwa and the viewpoint at the top of the falls are on rough ground. Rangers can show the rhino at a shorter distance; the falls are also seen from the boat.
  • New for 2027: A flight-home option on Day 7, and every day keeps one activity and a rest.
  • Route optimised for 2027: Line already logical; duplicate night drive dropped and the top of the falls moved to the close. Road time: 7 h road + 2 flights → 7 h road + 2 flights.
