Day by day

Day 1: Arrive

Meet and assist at Moi International Airport, Mombasa, and a short transfer to the Sarova Whitesands on the beach. Or arrive at JKIA and stay at the Sarova Panafric in Nairobi. An easy evening.

Day 2: By train to Voi

Accessible Travel Kenya’s team takes you to the Madaraka Express terminus and helps you board. Ride to Voi (a short ride from Mombasa, longer from Nairobi), where the company’s Land Cruiser is waiting at the station. Game drive through Tsavo East to Kiboko River Camp.

Day 3: Red elephants on the Galana

Morning and evening drives along the Galana River. Between them, the infinity pool overlooking hippos and crocodiles, and the camp’s waterhole camera streaming to your phone.

Day 4: Tsavo East

A drive to Lugard Falls and the Galana’s rocky channels, then a rest afternoon at camp and a sundowner by the river.

Day 5: To the coast

About 2 hours to Watamu and Turtle Bay Beach Club. The afternoon is yours: the beach, the pool, or your first swim in the Indian Ocean.

Day 6: The reef

A glass-bottom boat over the coral gardens of Watamu Marine National Park, or snorkelling with support, and lunch on the sandbank when the tide allows.

Day 7: Turtles and Mida Creek

Meet the team that rescues and treats injured sea turtles at their rehabilitation centre, then Mida Creek’s birdlife and mangroves. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 8: Home

About 30 minutes to Malindi Airport for your flight, or about 2 hours to Mombasa for a flight or the train back to Nairobi.
