Day by day
Day 1: Arrival, spice tour and Riu Jambo
You are met at the airport and stop at Kizimbani on the way north to sample cloves, star fruit, tangerines, lemongrass and other spices and fruit straight from the plants. Arrive at Riu Jambo for a welcome drink, lunch, dinner and an all-inclusive overnight.
Day 2: Mnemba Atoll snorkelling
Leaving Nungwi by boat after breakfast, you travel about an hour down the north-east coast, where dolphins are often seen, to snorkel two contrasting reefs in the Mnemba marine conservation area. A seafood barbecue on Muyuni beach is followed by a traditional dhow sail back to Nungwi.
Day 3: Free day at Riu Jambo
A whole day with nothing scheduled, so you can enjoy the beach, pools and the rest of the resort’s facilities at your own pace.
Day 4: Stone Town tour and departure
After breakfast a guide takes you round Stone Town’s busy market, the 1874 cathedral, the Zanzibar Museum, Tippu Tip’s House, the Old Fort and the restored Indian Dispensary, ending with a stroll through the narrow lanes. Following some time for shopping you are driven to the airport.
