Day 1: Zanzibar to Nyerere and back
Leave your hotel early for Zanzibar Airport and take the short flight to Nyerere National Park (formerly the Selous Game Reserve), one of Africa’s largest protected areas. Set off straight away on a game drive in an open 4×4, pausing mid-morning for tea or coffee and at lunchtime for a hot picnic served at a table in the bush. Look out for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra and the rare African wild dog. In the afternoon, fly back to Zanzibar and transfer to your hotel.
